Lean Management

Enviroscapes applies Lean Management Principles to eliminate wasteful activities in its operations.  The elimination of waste allows Enviroscapes to maximize value to its customers.

This concept of LEAN Management was refined and utilized by Toyota Motor Company and is often referred to as the “Toyota Production System.”  Some of the LEAN tools that are used are "Just In Time Inventory", One-Piece Flow, Standard Work, and 5S.

Eliminating waste and focusing efforts on what maximizes customer value has allowed Enviroscapes to increase service and quality while maintaining competitive pricing.

In late 2006, we began an extensive training program on the concepts of LEAN called “The Working Smarter Training Challenge.”  Since that time, we have committed to conducting weekly training sessions every Wednesday morning where our entire team actively participates in the learning process and applies the concepts of LEAN in their positions.

Enviroscapes attributes much of its recent growth and success to its involvement in the Working Smarter Training Challenge.  Enviroscapes continues to profitably grow as a company despite a weakened economy and recent spikes in cost on such things as fuel, equipment and fertilizer.

So how does Enviroscapes do it?  We do it by embracing change and constantly striving for improvement.  Our employees are at the core of all change.  An Enviroscapes employee is charged with the duty to continually question the way we do everything and is empowered to continually improve upon the “current state” of each work process.
